KASB’s annual Advocacy In Action Conference will kick off the 2024 legislative session, as education advocates from across Kansas will spend two days discussing issues affecting public schools during these unprecedented times and meeting with key policymakers.
The Jan. 17 conference starts at 9 a.m. at the Sunflower Foundation, with the KASB Advocacy team providing a preview of the major education issues and learning strategies for working effectively with lawmakers. A trip to the Statehouse will be part of the activities on Wednesday. Jan. 17 to hear from state leaders, attend legislative committee meetings, visit with local representatives, and learn more about the legislative process. A box lunch will be provided at the Statehouse.
KASB officials and other leaders will be on hand to visit with members of KAN during breakfast and training beginning at 7:30 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 18. The network is accepting members who will receive in-depth training on advocacy at the state and national levels. Visit www.kasb.org/advocacynetwork to view more information and apply for KAN.
Registration costs $175/registrant and includes any conference materials and lunch on January 17 at the Statehouse.
