Personnel changes at KASB

KASB has announced some recent staffing changes.

Leah Fliter has been named Assistant Executive Director for Advocacy and Governmental Relations and will lead KASB’s advocacy efforts. Fliter, the former Director of Governmental Relations, has worked for KASB since 2016.

Mark Tallman, who has worked for KASB for 33 years, has been named Associate Executive Director of Educational Advocacy. In this position, Tallman will lead KASB efforts to align the efforts of school boards with statewide educational goals.  

New KASB employees include Lori Blake, Steve Karlin and Russell Miller to work with board members on leadership and training. Blake is a former KASB President and former member of the Southeast of Saline USD 306 board; Karlin is former Superintendent of Garden City USD 457 and Miller is former Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources for Andover USD 385

In addition, KASB has hired Lori Kopp, as the new Assistant Director of Legal; Ceri Goulter, as Department Coordinator for Leadership, Member Engagement and Advocacy and John Forrer, who will work in the Advocacy Department as a Government Relations Specialist.

"These new employees and staff changes will help KASB better meet the needs of the 2,000 board members in Kansas who work for the success of all of our students,” said Dr. Brian Jordan, Executive Director of KASB.
