KASB President Kimball named to national group

KASB President Shannon Kimball has been appointed to the board of directors of the National School Boards Action Center, which advocates at the federal level to advance public education.

Kimball, an attorney, has served on the Lawrence USD 497 board since 2011, in addition serving on numerous community committees.

Kimball grew up in western Kansas and earned a bachelor’s degree in political science and Spanish from the University of Kansas. She received her law degree at the University of Michigan Law School and has worked with public schools as an attorney in private practice and an education specialist.
